About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Emergency Services - Physical Security Division on Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.

Duties

Serve as Team Leader in Physical Security Branch. Serve as assistant systems administrator for the Installation's Integrated Commercial Detection System (ICIDS). Serve as a technical consultant for the Directorate of Public Works Contracting Officer's Representative for evaluation of security contract proposals, and contractor performance. Serves as a technical coordinator with the Directorate of Public Works to review initial construction concept plans for physical security and anti terrorism considerations. Serve as coach, facilitator and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in consensus building activities among team members. Perform physical security inspections to determine potential threats that may exist. Perform site surveys to evaluate the environment and determine the type of physical security equipment as needed. Work with personnel and organizations responsible for a wide range of security actions concerned with the physical protection of personnel, access to areas and to protect against terrorism, espionage, willful and un-willful damage, theft, or loss.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires the incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid state drivers license.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the core SPeD Certification, Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within the first two years of employment or being assigned to the position.
  • This position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Security Management or related field of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationPhysical SecuritySecurity Program ManagementVulnerabilities Assessment and Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: To support the Advancement requirement you MUST submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50/NPA that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package.
