About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US Army IMCOM, USAG Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Duties
Serves as a Security Specialist in a garrison Security Office within the Installation Management Command (IMCOM).
Serves as a Security Specialist for one or more security programs (e.g. Industrial Security, Information Security, Personnel Security, or their associated training requirements) defined by the AR 380-series regulations.
Interprets higher-level guidance and promulgates implementing directives and guidance to the Army organizations on the installation.
Provides definitive technical advice and assistance to senior authorities.
Conducts analyses to identify program issues.
Advises the supervisor of recommended policy or procedural changes.
Provides program oversight of the implementation processes at the installation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two-year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and then continue to maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Special Background Investigation for the duties required.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required for approximately 15% of the time.
- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. Requires the incumbent to obtain the SFPC certification within their first two years of employment.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience in analyzing and resolving security problems in the personnel security (PERSEC) and information security (INFOSEC) field, and providing guidance to management on security solutions that support the integration of mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.
