Duties

Serves as a principal Antiterrorism staff specialist and subject matter expert in the HQ USASOC Protection Division. Serves as a principal Antiterrorism staff specialist and subject matter expert in the HQ USASOC Protection Division. Assess the readiness of unit security, update and evaluate in-transit security plans to deter and withstand terrorist attacks and develops crisis management plans and guidance for reacting to terrorist attacks.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • This position requires the employee to perform TDY Travel in the performance of the duties of this position for approximately 20% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be a graduate of the Antiterrorism Level II Course and the DoD Antiterrorism Program Course.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in 1) develop command Antiterrorism program providing updates on the portion that relates to protection operations order; 2) manage the Core Vulnerability Assessment Management Program (CVAMP) and Combating Terrorism Readiness Initiative Fund (Cbt-RIF) for the command; 3) assist in prioritizing the protection requirements to evaluate the adequacy of the overall Antiterrorism program; 4) written communication to prepare briefings that are submitted to the command in reference to the Antiterrorism program; 5) oral communication to present briefings to higher echelon. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Problem SolvingProgram ManagementTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
