The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Executive Support Specialist in the command Section of the Group. The position is responsible for administering and directing ensuring that day-to-day operations comply with the policies of the command. The work is performed with an extraordinary degree of the intendance from supervision.

Duties

Serves as the executive advisor on programs and initiatives within the complex Plans/conducts staff meetings as directed. Manages complex resources for executive support, services and activities. Monitors and tracks all data calls for conferences and special events for the Complex in support of the Commander/Director, Command Section, ALC, AFMC, Organizations, etc. (i.e., various MAJCOM data requests, etc.) Performs a variety of administrative duties, and special projects/studies Works to achieve and support quality improvement in all products and services.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administration and Management, Series 0301. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes administering and directing the Group's executive support functions and ensuring the day to day operations comply with the policies of the command. Comprehensive knowledge of staff operations functions in order to develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions to staff operations issues and to provide definitive input on how proposed changes would enhance or be detrimental to the mission and objectives of the organization. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. The employee may be required to travel away from the normal duty station to perform temporary duty assignments by military or commercial means. 2. The employee may be required to work beyond the normal tour of duty under compensatory or overtime. 3. The employee must obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance. 4. Performs other related duties as assigned. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Demand:The work is primarily sedentary with some walking and carrying of reports, ledgers, etc. Work Environment: The work is performed in an office setting. The incumbent may be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to, managing calendars, fielding calls and inquiries, creating meetings with clear objectives and supporting documents/information, managing and tracking suspenses, overseeing and reporting the status of travel, training, and awards budgets, and also serving as the primary point of contact for the Staff functions such as: government purchase cards, time and attendance and overtime, SharePoint, electronic records management, emergency management, and the continuity of operations program (COOP).
