Salary: $34 - 40 per hour

You will serve as a PLANNER & ESTIMATOR in the Procurement Branch (Code 1410.2) of the Business Operations Division (Code 1410) of the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) (Code 1400), in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania a detachment of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will analyze required work and determines the most effective and efficient means of accomplishing the work. You will occasionally rely on the National Stock System to purchase requested goods through MILSTRIP. You will ensure all hazardous material items are properly registered on NNSY's Authorized User List. You will serve as procurement point of contact to provide available statuses, provide clarification, augment existing instructions, and expedite incoming materials to satisfy schedules and avoid delays

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISON Ability to perform market research of requested goods and/or services to determine the proper procurement path through the mandatory source listing of ABILITY ONE, UNICOR, FEDMALL, GLOBAL SUPPLY, GSA, DLA Metals, etc. Ability to initiates a Job Order Production, Coordination document including job orders, Key Operations (KEOPS), job titles, projected man-hours, material costs, shop store costs, Trade Skills Designator, KEOP titles, and Technical Work Document references (ESR's, PCI's, etc.). Ability to utilize NFPC's Material Management Systems working in conjunction with financial and fund administrator personnel in requesting and assigning· properly designated job orders to respective purchases. Ability to utilize NNSYs material database, Material Access Technology (MAT) to log entries with pre-designated Julian date document numbers. Ability to review technical work documents, such as ESRs (Engineering Service Requests) and PCIs (Propeller Center Instructions). Ability to maintain GPC(government purchase card).
