About the Position: This position serves as a Foreign Assistance Specialist (Aviation) for the Security Assistance Training Management Organization in Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Duties

Direct the development, management, execution and support of comprehensive worldwide U.S. Army Security Assistance Aviation Training Program. Manage overseas Security Assistance aviation training programs for a specified group of countries. Prioritize allocation of aviation training resources, projecting out-year worldwide Security Assistance aviation training requirements to recommend policy changes. Supervise preparation of information to be incorporated into legal contracts committing the U.S. Government to provide aviation training to other nations.

Requirements

  • The employee must be able to obtain, maintain and possess a valid Secret security clearance.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position requires that the incumbent obtain, possess and maintain a valid state motor vehicle operator's license along with an international vehicle operator's license.
  • The employee must be able to obtain, possess and maintain a current United States official and tourist passport.
  • This position requires that the incumbent be able to travel to foreign countries and follow any corresponding laws, agreements or other official restrictions or conditions associated with government travel.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical advice on the planning, development and execution of foreign aviation training operations; managing automated systems and processes for foreign national training; delivering briefs on new policy development and implementation; and maintaining oversight of foreign instructional training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and EvaluatingTechnical CompetenceTraining Program Evaluation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
