Duties
Serves as the Data Surveillance Section Head in the Program Assessment Branch, Marine and Family Programs Division, Headquarters Marine Corps. Oversees collection, maintenance, storage and monitoring of data for the surveillance of specific results and conditions related to Marine and Family Programs, including but not limited to domestic and child abuse with family problems, substance abuse, combat operational stress, suicide, sexual assault prevention and response, Personal and Professional Readiness Programs, and other behavioral health problems that inhibit a commander¿s ability to improve or sustain individual performance and mission readiness of active duty Marines. Provides policy and program support to improve and sustain the capabilities of commanders, Marines, and family members; prevent problems that detract from unit performance and readiness, and aid in coping successfully with the Marine Corps lifestyle by identifying adverse behavioral health and sexual assault trends, conditions, and results.

Qualifications
Bachelor¿s degree in social science, business, data analysis, computer science or a related field and four years of experience; OR Master¿s degree in a social science, business, data analysis, computer science or a related field and two years of experience that demonstrates knowledge of and strong background in statistical analysis with proficiency in statistical analysis software; comprehensive knowledge of designing tools for the data collection, interpreting, analyzing, and presenting results; analyzing and evaluating efficiency and effectiveness of business practices to meet goals and objectives. Skill to analyze and evaluate procedures and systems to improve operations; collect data to determine compliance with established policies and procedures and establish sound management practices. Skill to maintain effective relationships with, gain confidence and cooperation of and persuade a variety of stakeholders to accept proposals on complex issues. Skill to work independently in a self-directed manner as well as within a team dynamic.Comprehensive knowledge of: Marine and Family Programs policies, interventions, activities, and evaluations; management principles and processes; analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to assess program development and improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Knowledge of and skill in using management information systems, office automation systems and processes, computer applications, principles, and techniques. Skill to communicate effectively orally and in writing, develop reports, proposals, charts, and graphs and conduct presentations. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and supervise a team in data collection, management, analysis, and reporting.Telework: Eligible for incremental telework as determined by MF policy.
