You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Temporary Project Facilities Engineering Branch (Code 986) of the Production Engineering Manager Division (Code 980), Production Facilities and Equipment Manager (Code 900F), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will maintain records for the turnover of waterfront project facilities and equipment assets to maintain consistency for each occupancy.
You will coordinate, monitor quality, oversee installation, removing maintenance, and repairing temporary facilities used throughout the shipyard.
You will resolve conflicts between competing occupancies.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience using advanced engineering or architectural theories to advise senior management on planning/programming aspects of Military Construction (MILCON) and Special projects.
Experience applying scientific and engineering principals in relation to structural, mechanical, electrical/electronic and civil disciplines for ships maintenance, repair, construction, and operations.
Experience in Naval ship overhaul processes to include production, planning engineering, and scheduling.
Experience investigating and evaluating problems through engineering studies
