You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ASSISTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the ADMINISTRATIVE DIVISION of NAVY WARFARE DEVELOPMENT CENTER.
Duties
You will receive office visitors and phone calls.
You will direct callers and visitors to appropriate staff or personally provide requested information when possible.
You will assist the Command Pay/Personnel Administrator (CPPA) with processing military personnel into and out of NWDC, ensuring all required forms are completed accurately and submitted to the supporting Personnel Office.
You will respond to personnel concerning procedural and recurring pay or personnel issues.
You will support the military personnel electronic leave program.
You will process civilian and contractor personnel into and out of the NWDC, ensuring all required forms are provided to each new employee.
You will type a variety of correspondence utilizing standard Navy correspondence terminology and format; correct rough draft input with respect to arrangement, spelling, punctuation and spacing of material.
You will thoroughly proofread all material prior to signature and transmittal referring to correspondence manuals and dictionaries as needed,
You will assist in transporting outgoing and incoming mail to and from the base postal directory.
You will ensure that mail is handled and stored properly according to USPS and USN regulations.
You will maintain the official files retained in the Administrative Division.
Requirements

Qualifications
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
To qualify for the ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE ASSISTANT (OA), GS-0303-05, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience providing a variety of administrative and clerical services such as typing different types of correspondence, proofreading materials, transporting, and handling mail, maintaining official files, and sensitive materials.
Experience performing a full range of administrative support duties such as preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents, maintaining office records and database management systems to produce documents according to Navy requirements.
Experience performing routine clerical tasks such as answering the telephone, taking messages, referring callers to appropriate staff members, forwarding emails, and files.
Experience utilizing various Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, SharePoint.
Experience importing and exporting data using office automation software and hardware to produce a wide range of documents, graphics, and tables.

Successful completion of at least four full academic years of education above high school

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
