You will serve as a MARINE PLACEMENT ASSISTANT in the CSU-E (N12C1), of the CIVMAR SUPPORT GROUP (N12C), in the CIVMAR Program Manager (N12), of the Total Force Management (N1), of the Military Sealift Command (MSC) located in Norfolk, VA of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Duties
You will be responsible for serving as a Pool Coordinator with the responsibility for checking CIVMARS in to the pool, arranging hotel accommodations, tracking CIVMARS' status and managing the CIVMAR lounge.
You will be responsible for working closely with detailing staff to assure a smooth transition from the shore office to the ship.
You will be responsible for coordinating with the Drug Program Coordinator in the execution of the Drug /Alcohol Program.
You will be responsible for performing random drug and alcohol testing of CIVMARs in CSU-E pool, Afloat Training Team and Fire School.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience assisting CIVMAR's assigned to the East Coast pool by providing advisement and direction concerning various human capital requirements.
Experience coordinating and supervising work activities of CIVMAR's assigned to the CIVMAR Support Unit (CSU) East Pool.
Experience scheduling CIVMAR appointments too meet or talk with Detailers.
Experience monitoring assignments made by Detailers and distributing travel orders and tickets to the CIVMAR's.
Experience maintaining open communication with CIVMAR's to identify potential program policy or procedural improvements designed to reduce turnover rate, job dissatisfaction, absenteeism, grievances, etc.
Experience with in-depth knowledge of personnel management rules and regulations, EEO policies, Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS), MSC policies and procedures, and travel policies and procedures to provide advice and assistance to the CIVMAR's.
