Duties

Plan community relations events and activities at the Directorate of Emergency Services. Receive and reviews directives from higher authority and assists the command group in determining action needed. Develop standard operating procedures for reoccurring community events. Provide recommendations to site staff and subordinate personnel to facilitate compliance with policies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires Tier 3 Secret Clearance.
  • Incumbent may be required to work overtime, or at nights, weekends and holidays, in connection with stated duties.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing administrative support such as office management, receiving telephone calls, preparing and/or reviewing correspondences such as, letters, memorandums, reports, and/or briefings, scheduling meetings, maintaining staff calendars; and 2) Utilizing office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree I related fields of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementClericalOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
