Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as developing and/or evaluating policy and program strategies and guidance, providing recommendations to senior management and personnel, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to land revitalization.
Ability to synthesize complex and sensitive issues to communicate advice to senior EPA leadership.
Skill in interpreting agency/national policies and programs.
Knowledge of management practices and procedures to resolve problems of major significance to agency environmental problems.
Knowledge of program principles as they relate to long range planning.
Skill in oral communication.
Skill in written communication.
Ability to communicate technical information to various audiences.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
