You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Test Division, Code 61 of the Machinery Integration Test Facility Directorate, Code 60, of NSWC PHILA DIV.

Duties

You will perform a wide variety of program/project management and/or engineering tasks for new acquisition ship/submarine integrated power systems/equipment and integrated power support systems/equipment. You will plan and execute development, investigations, analyses, and/or testing to determine performance requirements. You will identify deficiencies and/or provide improvements in design, affordability, operation, maintenance, safety, and supporting technical documents. You will plan, organize, and work to meet objectives; identify approaches and solve problems; propose and justify additional investigations; and recommend changes to basic requirements and deviations from normal practices.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a technician developing or testing power systems or equipment. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a technician assisting in the development or testing of power systems or equipment.
