You will serve as a Marine Transportation Specialist in the Directorate Ship Management (N03) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Duties
You will develop plans and procedures for responsive and cost-effective operation of the MSC EPF.
You will oversee and coordinate planning and procedures for any changes to assigned vessels.
You will review and approve EPF fleet schedules, cargo loading plans, and cargoes to be lifted by voyage charters versus potential lift by controlled assets.
You will evaluate ships fuel, speed and performance warranties versus contract requirements.

- Travel may be a requirement for this position and may exceed 10-20%. Travel is required to various work sites which includes both Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States
- (OCONUS) locations as well as ships at sea and in various ports worldwide.
- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government passport for official
OCONUS travel.
- Overtime may be required.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- Shipyard and shipboard work is a requirement of the position where the incumbent will be required to climb, crawl, and bend to accomplish shipboard inspections in a shipyard environment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience managing, coordinating, and analyzing multi-faceted critical, highly complex and often times sensitive internal and external actions, projects, and/or activities regarding ocean transportation of supplies, equipment, ammunition, and other cargo to support deployment of U.S. Armed Forces worldwide as well as support a myriad of Special Mission requirements for the Department of Defense. Experience maintaining readiness of shipboard assets, implementing methodologies and processes for collecting, recording, and reporting cost and performance data regarding marine transportation. Experience maintaining readiness of all program assets to include lifecycle management and logistical support; developing long term strategic planning; ensuring customer requirements are met; formulating program policy; budget development, management and execution; and contract administration regarding ship readiness. Experience maintaining ship readiness, ship manning, and supplies/spares status and identifying gaps and recommendations to improve deficiencies to promote mission readiness. Experience utilizing in day-to-day duties commercial vessel practices to include USCG regulatory and ABS class requirements and how they affect the readiness of sea going vessels.
