The selectee for this position will serve as a MARINE TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST in the Operations Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Division of CDR SEALIFT LOGISTICS CMD ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will monitor and track pre-deployment preparations to ensure ships are on track to meet operational commitments for deployments and for major fleet exercises. You will attend planning conferences to assist with platform selection and availability, defines command and control structures. You will provide ship capabilities and limitations, including explaining how to request MSC assets for participation in exercises. You will retrieve classified readiness data from COMUSFLTFORCES data base for validation and incorporation into ship’s readiness briefs. You will make recommendations as appropriate.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience. For GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience managing Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) program for ship platforms to ensure mission and operational readiness; Experience conducting periodic reviews of physical security programs aboard assigned ships and shore facilities; Experience using Defense Readiness Reporting System-Navy (DRRS-N) to ensure ship readiness programs; Experience collecting Casualty Report (CASREP) data to prepare presentations for ship readiness briefings; Experience applying a wide range of marine transportation concepts and principles in order to provide security for various ship platforms. Experience coordinating AT/FP training events.
