This position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection, Dallas Regional Office, in Dallas, TX of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and reports to the Community Affairs Regional Manager and performs various tasks necessary to carry out the mission of Community Affairs and the regional business plan, including fostering ongoing communication between banks and community-based organizations, research and analysis, education, and the management of assigned projects.

Duties

Engages in proactive communication with community­ -based organizations, academia, government officials, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies regarding Community Reinvestment Act, fair lending, economic inclusion, and community development to identify and address ways to support the needs of low- and moderate-income communities and individuals. Leads production and technical aspects of in-person and/or virtual events, including but not limited to stakeholder management, coordination with technical and support teams, and set-up and testing. Conducts post-event debriefs, analyses and reports regarding participation, response and other information on the effectiveness of the events and activities. Supports the examination process by providing guidance and technical assistance to examiners regarding community development and economic inclusion. Shares information to assist examiners in better understanding community credit needs. Designs and delivers CRA, community development economic inclusion and other educational or marketing materials, either individually or in conjunction with other DCP regions, government and regulatory agencies, and private organizations, for the benefit of examiners, bankers, and community representatives. Represents the FDIC as speaker or participant as designated, at events designed to educate financial institutions, community representatives and others with respect to community development and economic inclusion. Prepares papers, briefings, brochures and other material as required for presentation.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 12 level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience fostering communication between banks and community-based organizations (CBOs). This includes research and analysis in identifying credit needs of communities establishing and managing partnerships with CBOs to increase lending, depository activities and investments; and leading roundtable discussions and workgroups with the bank, community, and regulatory representatives about community reinvestment issues, consumer protection laws, and/or fair lending. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
