About the Position: Intelligence and Electronic Warfare (IEW) Systems Technical Representative (STR) Equipment Specialist works while geographically separated from the supervisor, with responsibility for planning and executing duties with no technical guidance.

Duties

Serve as the IEW STR Equipment Specialist (LAR) with responsibility to develop and implement the Technical Assistance plan for the IEW family of systems throughout their lifecycle. Serve as the commodity command’s Technical Subject Matter Expert and focal point for technical assistance for IEW system such as, but not limited to, Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A) mobile and fixed. Use expert knowledge in configuring, maintaining and upgrading system networks and servers, installing and integrating new server hardware and applications, loading and use of a variety of software applications. Constantly expands the capability of the US Army to operate and maintain complex, interrelated IEW weapon systems crossing DOD component boundaries. Provide technical assistant to a wide variety of IEW systems.

Requirements

  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • This position is subject to a mobility or rotation agreement as a condition of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 45% of the time.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination.
  • The employee will be required to live under field conditions; in tents consuming field rations such as Meals Ready to Eat (MRE).
  • Statutory return rights are granted for permanent, competitive service employees within the Department of Defense. For all other Federal agencies, administrative return rights may be granted.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
