Duties

You will assist with the oversight and control of the operation/maintenance of accounting, financial management, and financial feeder systems supporting accounting, reporting, and management information for the Department of the Navy (DON). You will complete requirements assigned during each phase of an approved Individual Development Plan (IDP). You will formulate budget/estimates to support plans programs and activities. You will present and defend budget estimates before authorities. You will review and evaluate budget requests.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting performing accounting work, including the maintenance of accounting records, preparation, analysis and interpretation of financial statements; reviewing accounting data for accuracy to ensure the integrity of the accounting system; monitoring financial logs to identify errors or trends. The recent graduate program is for those who have graduated, within the past two years, from a qualifying educational institution with a minimum 2.95 GPA
.

GS-07 position- 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement.

NOTE: Education and experience may be combined for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
