This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Training Center Yorktown, Training Division, Response Branch, Incident Response School in Yorktown, VA.
Duties
This position serves as an expert in analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the Sector Commander and Department Head Courses. The incumbent is responsible for leveraging all available resources and modalities to plan and carry out training curricula and also serves as the primary instructor for the two courses and delivers other courses of instruction for the Response Branch, Prevention Branch and International Division as available.

Qualifications
Basic RequirementsEducation: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
orSpecialized Experience: Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
Supervising or administering a training program.
Developing and/or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
Working in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
-AND-Minimum Qualifications
Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level (in the federal service). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include managing mission execution (e.g. search and rescue program management, marine inspections oversight, pollution response coordination, etc.) planning, developing, and implementing training policy and procedures; conducting studies that evaluate and predict program achievements and student proficiency. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
