Duties
Meets with customer(s) on a regular basis (quarterly/monthly-varies by customer) to understand how the customer uses DLA products and from this will analyze and adjust historical demand data used for statistical forecasting.
Develops collaborative forecasts for those items that have demonstrated demand patterns and for those that support the application of statistical models of prediction.
Provide forecast data to the applicable centers for incorporation into the Agency's most appropriate forecast model/methodology Networks Collaborate/Demand tools.
Analyzes statistical trends to determine DLA program effectiveness and projected requirements based on customer's input.
Develops, refines, analyzes and modifies logistical and supply program policies having an impact on all Military activities in the Pacific Theater.
Reviews Logistic programs to determine overall effectiveness and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, agreements and policies.
Reviews all policies and procedures relating to strategy, planning, and customer service for assigned customers as the Cell/Support Team primary point of contact.
Evaluates operation plans and assesses DoD supporting tasks and missions.
Work with other DoD activities resolves operation plan shortfalls, limitations and other conditions that impact DLA's ability to perform its wartime logistics support mission.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Resolving operation plan shortfalls, limitations, and other conditions that impact the agency's ability to perform its wartime logistics support mission.
Evaluating operation plans and assessing the agency supporting tasks and missions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Physical Demands: Assignments regularly involve long periods of standing, bending, and stooping to observe and study work operations in an industrial, storage, or comparable work area. Frequent travel may be required. Occasional work under adverse environmental conditions is required, such as when deployed as part of a DLA Support Team (DST). Deployment may require carrying articles like personal duffle bags or other items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment: Assignments regularly require visits to manufacturing, storage, or other industrial areas, and involve moderate risks or discomforts. Protective clothing and gear and observance of safety precautions are required. Deployment on a DST may require working in a field environment and living in conditions like those the supported customers are subjected to.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
