About the Position: Serves as a Support Operations Officer responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and integrating logistics operations. As a principle multi-functional logistics staff offer and subject matter expert (SME) provides direction and staff level oversight of multiple Army Field Support Battalions, Logistics Support Elements, Brigade Logistics Support Teams, and Logistics Readiness Centers, geographically dispersed though-out the Brigade area of support.
Duties
Manages Brigade level programs in support of LRC and the Sustainment Readiness Model (SRM) Standard Army Management process.
Integrates Logistics Support Activities (LOGSA) products and Sustainment Information System (SIS) as required to support Warfighters, Brigade and subordinate command activities.
Serves as the supervisor to civilian and military personnel and provides contractor oversight.
Promotes Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action, and other special programs.
Performs multi-functional logistics planning, budget formulation, operations, supply, maintenance, doctrine, training and administration to support the
requirements of the Brigade.
Prepares correspondence, operational plans, operations and fragmentary orders to support Brigade operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening and random drug testing.
- This is a Critical Acquisition Position. Selectee must execute a written tenure agreement to remain in the Federal Service in this position for at least three years.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
- Position is designated as Mission Essential to ensure facility operations in support of Continuity of Operations Programs (COOP) and/or performance of duties and completion of tasks that are mission essential function of the organization.
- Position is designated as Key position and may not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impacting the organization to function effectively.

Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Experience coordinating with senior level officials to provide logistics planning support; 2) Experience interpreting government regulations and policy to determine the impact to supported customers; AND 3) Experience developing logistical plans, procedures and/or processes to support customer missions, operations or events. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
