Duties
You will operate Fuel Distribution Systems equipment to load, unload, and transfer petroleum and lubricating oils through pipelines and dispensing systems.
You will report gauge, pressure readings, volume of fuel transferred.
You will perform manual gauging of fuel tanks through use of plumb bob and tape, checks water content of fuels and POL products.
You will use various fittings and adapters to provide tight joints to prevent spills and loss of product.
You will verify temperature readings of liquid fuels in tanks.
You will perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of fuel distribution system equipment.
You will perform duties associated with that of a spill response and clean-up.
You will obtain fuel samples and deliver them to the Petroleum Laboratory.
You will operate assigned vehicles, including Class B trucks and forklifts.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift when performing preventive maintenance.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You must have the ability to distinguish basic colors.
- You must obtain and maintain state and /or government operator licenses, certifications, and permits for all assigned vehicles and equipment and vehicles.
- You will be subject to mandatory call to duty at any hour of the day or night to perform off-schedule fuel operations or to respond to an emergency situation i.e., oil spill.
- You must complete the 24-hour HAZWOPER Course and earn the certification.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You must be removed from your military recall status, if applicable. A signed statement of understand required for this position.
- You must possess a valid a Commercial Class B, or higher, Commercial Driver’s License with HAZMAT endorsement and Air Brakes
- You must obtain and maintain licenses and certifications for all assigned equipment, including forklifts and government weight handling equipment.
Qualifications
Your resume your resume must show that you have the ability to perform the work of a WG-5413-08 Fuel Distribution Systems Worker as demonstrated through experience performing routine tasks working under normal supervision on common tasks including the following:
1) Operating pumps and accessory equipment to receive, load, offload, transfer liquid fuels and similar products.
2) Performing gauging of fuel tanks
3) Assisting with preventive and breakdown maintenance of fuel distribution system equipment.
4) Obtaining fuel samples and delivering them to the Petroleum Laboratory as

6) YOU MUST POSSES valid a Commercial Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License with HAZMAT endorsement and Air Brakes
