You will serve as a Fuel Distribution Service Worker in the Fuel Department of NAVSUP FLC SD GF within Naval base Point Loma.
Duties
You will perform various docking, line, and hose handling and related wharf dockside duties during issue and receipts of fuel to ocean going barges.
You will operate gasoline or diesel powered tank trucks with a gross vehicle weight up to 32,000 pounds.
You will perform equipment preventative maintenance and minor corrective and breakdown maintenance as required.
You will serve as a Tankerman, a specially trained operator of a non-self-propelled Navy fuel barge otherwise known as a Yard Oiler Navy (YON).
You will ensure compliance with procedure and requirement for maintenance of equipment, operations logs, cleanliness, and hazardous materials
regulations.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current forklift operator license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a at least a current CDL - Type B with HAZMAT and Air Brake license
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Tankerman Endorsement certification

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform a full range of tasks of a fuel distribution system worker to include experience performing a majority of the following duties with minimal supervision: receiving, issuing, storing and transferring petroleum and other products; operate special stations in a fuel distribution system and/or a fuel reclamation system to transfer fuel and other petroleum products from fuel distribution facility workstations to ships, refuel units, and/or tank trucks. I operate pumps and accessory equipment to load, unload, and transfer fuels through pipelines, hoses to and from tank farms, tankers, ships and tank truck utilizing a knowledge of various fittings and adapters to prevent spills. I monitor tank temperature, connect and disconnect hoses and open and close valves, checking periodically for leaks. I check the condition of receiving tanks, couple and uncouple hoses, read meters, open and close valves, operate the pumps, and record amounts that are transferred. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
