The mission of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) is to provide force protection, security, and law enforcement to safeguard personnel, facilities, infrastructure and other resources for the Pentagon Reservation and designated Department of Defense (DoD) facilities (hereinafter referred to as "the Pentagon Facilities") within the National Capital Region (NCR).
Duties
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
Administers the Department of Defense (DoD) Privacy and Civil Liberties program within PFPA consistent with DoDI 5400.11, DoD 5400.11-R, and IGDINST 5400.11.
Manages PFPA's System of Records and Notices requirements to include ensuring all SORNS and OMB Licenses are updated and writing Privacy Impact Assessments, Privacy Act Statements and SSN Justification Memorandums.
As the Privacy and Civil Liberties Officer, provides advice and organizational technical guidance to senior leadership on the application of Federal privacy and civil liberties policies and processes.
Develops, reviews, implements, and maintains PFPA privacy and civil liberties policies and procedures.
Administers the Department of Defense (DoD) Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program within PFPA consistent with DoD Directive 5400.07, "DoD Freedom of Information Act Program."
Coordinates, researches, analyzes and evaluates data for response to FOIA requests.
Serves as the PFPA Information management Control Officer (IMCO), performing the responsibilities in accordance with DoD Instruction 8910.01 and DoD 8910.1-M

- Position has been designated as Top Secret, Critical Sensitive-High Risk. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- The incumbent must adhere to DoD Standards of Conduct
- This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
- This position may require occasional travel away from your normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. Travel will be within the United States and overseas.
Qualifications
Time in Grade:
For entry at the GS-12 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience managing an Agency Privacy Act program to include Systems of Records and Notices, OMB Licenses, and Privacy Impact statements; implementing Privacy policies and procedures; reviewing proposals, initiatives, and/or policies to ensure they meet information privacy standards, and coordinating external requests for information in compliance with the Privacy Act.
Time in Grade:
For entry at the GS-13 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience
For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience with the Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act when processing external requests for information; submitting System of Records Notices, OMB Licenses, and Privacy Impact Statements; managing evaluating policies and/or programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and DoD regulations, and experience providing Privacy Act and FOIA training programs.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Applicants must describe how their experience meets the competencies within the body of the resume. No separate statements addressing competencies are required.

Education
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GS-12/13 grade levels.
