About the Position: Serves as a Program Support Assistant providing administrative, clerical and program support to the Branch. The incumbent is responsible for a wide variety of clerical, administrative, office automation duties designed to relieve the supervisors and action officers of administrative and office management tasks.
Duties
Maintain work/suspense tracking system to monitor action items and office/training deadlines.
Interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to accomplish organizational and district level actions, such as travel arrangements, training completion, organizational events and programs.
Compose written responses, transmittals, and confirmations to internal and external customer inquiries.
Use office automation to perform administrative duties. Use of excel and good typing skills are necessary.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a critical sensitive (TOP SECRET/SCI) security clearance and must be able to pass a polygraph test or a series of polygraph tests and continue to pass the polygraph test on a periodic basis.
- This position requires participation in the Department of Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program to include passing a urinalysis drug testing prior to appointment and passing random urinalysis drug testing thereafter.
- This position requires the skill of a qualified typist to include a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute based on a five minute sample with three or fewer errors.

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Experience performing a variety of administrative duties such as tracking critical suspense dates. 2.) Experience providing guidance or information in an advisory capacity in any of the following areas: time and attendance, travel policy, purchasing or training. 3) Experience utilizing automated systems to conduct administrative duties such as time and attendance, travel orders/vouchers, or financial transactions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study].
OR
Combination: Have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have some graduate level education as described in B, but less than the required one year. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.).
