THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2036000 and is part of the IL 126, National Guard.
Duties
As a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-2003-7/9, you will serve as a Supply Management Specialist that provides technical assistance on supply operations.
Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
Ensure supply actions taken within the weapon system cell meet regulatory compliance, customer needs and are in line with overall command mission goals.
Provide services and resolve issues and problems of a procedural nature in supply operations, planning, and program management.
Analyze, develop, evaluate or promote improvements in the policies, plans, methods, procedures, or techniques of a supply program.
Provide advice, counsel or instruction to others on both work and administrative matters.
Advise on ways to improve the efficiency and economy of supply operations.
Resolve problems associated with timely deliveries and lead times.
Resolve problems through cataloging, inventory, and acquisition channels involving new or unique equipment and related items peculiar to the mission supported.
Provide weapons system management for one of the aircraft weapon systems such as: C-5, C-17, KC-135, C-130, C-l4, F15, F-16, etc. or nonairborne systems: communications electronics, aerospace ground equipment add vehicles conduct surveys and studies of supply operations to determine proper application of supply methods or approved industry techniques.
Oversee the maintenance of inventory control records for parts needed in supply support and maintenance programs.
Observe activity in the account to ensure that parts and supplies are available when required.
Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence,
The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians in the 126th ARW.
The SECOND area of consideration will be all other members of the Illinois National Guard or those eligible for membership.
Military Grades: Enlisted - May not exceed the rank of SSGT.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience or training that has provided sufficient knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field and using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 Level MUST possess at least 24 months experience or training involving cost estimates, budgets or funding management; experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support. GS-07 Level MUST possess at least 12 months experience or training involving researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements; experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc.; experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment; knowledge of supply functions, cataloging, maintenance and disposal procedures; experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.
