THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5722P01 and is part of the IL 126, National Guard.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), GS-2003-12, you will exercise second level supervisory authorities over the SCOS.
Direct and advise on policy, training, and procedures that relate to division functions within the enterprise supply chain operations.
Develop goals and objectives that integrate organization and global supply programs objectives.
Establish, revise, or review policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements.
Responsible for the implementation of supply chain operations policy, process and guidance set forth to meet global mission objectives.
Plan work for accomplishment by subordinate units, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules based on consideration of difficulty of requirements and assignments such that the experience, training, and abilities of the staff are effectively utilized to meet organization and customer needs.
Provide subordinate supervisors and staff with direction and advice regarding policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Review and structure organization to optimize use of resources and maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
Establish metric and analysis systems for units managed to assess efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures.
Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
Select or recommend selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives.
Hold employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments.

Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education, or training which has provided a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field; experience using computer and automation systems.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 Level MUST possess at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade; experience supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions; knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system; experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues; experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: MUST possess specialized supervisory experience which includes experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
