About the Position:
This position is a Training Instructor with the 30th Air Defense Artillery (ADA), Fires Center of Excellence, in Fort Sill, OK. The incumbent of this position will be responsible for conducting training on subjects in multiple courses covering the components of the Forward Area Air Defense systems (FAADS) command and control, and associated electronics, to include communications and test equipment.
Duties
Review incoming doctrinal literature from other schools and The United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) for possible effects on the Forward Area Air Defense systems (FAADS) collective training.
Develop and conduct training courses regarding the Forward Area Air Defense systems (FAADS) .
Conduct validation and reliability studies to determine overall educational effectiveness of training products.
Instruct on the operations, function, troubleshoot procedures, checks and adjustments, and maintenance of Forward Area Air Defense systems (FAADS).
Prepare and administer examinations, evaluate test results, correlate test results with other measures of student ability and provide recommendations to academic deficiency panels on changes and student status.
Analyze training materials to assure instructional techniques are effective and efficient.
Analyze, design and develop Course Administrative Data (CAD), Course Management Plans (CMPs), new course; modify and/or update existing courses and develops training material for the Forward Area Air Defense systems.
Requirements
- The work of this position requires to possess or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
- May be required to conduct irregular hours of instruction.
- Occasional Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) away from home station 15% of the time.
- Defense National Relocation Program will NOT be authorized.
- Recruitment/Relocation/Retention Incentive may be authorized.
- Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Expenses may be authorized.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Demonstrate teaching experience using knowledge of the operation and maintenance of the Forward Area Air Defense systems (FAADS). 2) Develop training courses for the Forward Area Air Defense systems (FAADS) for instructional purposes. AND 3) Provide FAADS instruction to US and Foreign military officers, warrant officers, enlisted, and civilian personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
