This National Guard position is for a PROGRAM MANAGER (AIR OPERATION GROUP COMMANDER), Position Description Number NGD1502P01 and is part of 114 Fighter Wing. This is a Title 32, Dual-Status position.

Duties
As a PROGRAM MANAGER (AIR OPERATION GROUP COMMANDER), GS-0340-14, you will:
This position is located in an Air National Guard (ANG) Base, Air Operations Group (AOG). The incumbent of this position has the dual responsibility of serving as Commander/Vice Commander of an Air Operations Group (AOG). The unit has a federal and a state mission. The federal mission is to provide trained and qualified Air Operations Center (AOC) Command and Control (C2) warriors to augment MAJCOM deployable AOCs worldwide at the operational level of war. The state mission is to provide support to civil authorities, as directed by the Governor, for disaster relief, public safety, search, and rescue, and civil defense.

- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Qualifications
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Must be the rank of LtCol or Col to apply. Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full-time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Applicants specialized experience includes analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Skill to provide leadership and management of the flying unit.
