Be an Army Civilian - Go Army! Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. You will be part of managing and providing the information technology network and business systems that the U.S. Army need to operate every day. You will serve as an IT Specialist (OS) of the Army Data and Analytics Platforms (ARDAP) by providing Agile support services for authorized customers, both in and outside DoD, including government, non-government organizations, domestic and foreign.

Duties

Performs analysis and systems design activities in design, development, systems integration, and acquisition of software, hardware, and telecommunications. Identifies network, hardware, software information assurance requirements. Executes normal/daily IA activities such sustaining requirements for robust IA programs, maintaining the Risk Management Framework and managing Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) programs. Identifies and balances risks, selects alternatives, and plans how to best accomplish the goals and objectives of the project within recognized guidelines. Analyzes latest security principles and tools to develop and automate security processes via the use of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level 2 (Practitioner) in the Acquisition Career Field Engineering and Technical Management within 60 months of entrance on duty.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
  • This position requires submission of a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: In order to qualify for this position your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 or equivalent) grade level in the Federal service which includes: (1) Applying security controls to safeguard IT products on prem and on the cloud to prevent cyber vulnerabilities; (2) Applying analytical reasoning, evaluation, and communication skills to define and documented requirements and specifications needed to meet objectives and program mission; (3) Implementing DevSecOps pipelines for large scale IT environments with a focus on automated security testing; AND (4) Evaluating new technology to strengthen a programs cyber posture. AND Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below based on the grade level required of the position being filled: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service NH-02 (or GS-11 equivalent).
