You will serve as a MANPOWER MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Civilian Manpower Branch, Assistant Chief of Staff, G-1 of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will advise senior managers, supervisors and Human Resources liaisons on requirements and procedures to fill positions.
You will prepare Request for Personnel Actions for the G-1, Headquarters Staff and all other organizations that do not have support staff with appropriate access.
You will assist senior managers, supervisors and Human Resources liaisons on the proper methods to interview and select new employees.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-09
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level or pay band GS-07 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in manpower management/human resources and processing of employee personnel actions.
GS-07
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level or pay band GS-05 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. assisting in manpower management/human resources and administrative duties related.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-07
1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement
GS-09
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
