About the Position: This Human Resources Assistant (Military) position is located at National Training Center, Office of the G1 with a duty location of Ft. Irwin, California.
Duties
Serves as a Human Resource Assistant (Military), performing as a technician specializing in Awards, Decorations, and Badges for the National Training Center (NTC) and Fort Irwin G1.
Provides technical guidance and assistance to Battalion/Brigade S1s or other HR Professionals concerning the appropriateness of award recommendations and procedures for submitting award recommendations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- This position requires the incumbent to travel away from the normal duty station as required.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain both a valid Military and State Driver’s License.

Specialized experience involves 1) Processing military and human resources documents (i.e. awards, decorations, and badges); AND/OR 2) Using automated Human Resource systems to research and track information; AND/OR 3) Assisting personnel with completing documents and requests for Human Resources related needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower level/grade position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
