The primary purpose of this position is to provide supply operations support pertaining to specialized or unique supply items.
Duties
Conducts extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns.
Prepares recurring and special reports
Represents the work center with a variety of installation and functional area organizations
Receives, routes, and moves parts, assemblies, components, and other materials into and out of Supply Chain Management.
Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with team members, related functions, and operating officials
Plans and carries out parts movement arrangements
Monitors the use of hazardous material protection practices and procedures
Operates electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lift trucks capable of lifting loads weighing less than 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-4 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes knowledge of a wide range of well-established and commonly applied supply principles and concepts, unique supplies, equipment and parts requiring unusual degree of protection in shipment and storage, and determine the best method of procurement and other issues that influence supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of governing operating instructions, user and warehouse guides, supply regulations, procedures, and other applicable instructions; ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements.
2. Knowledge of supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods; ability to receive, screen, review, and verify supply documents and resolve discrepancies.
3. Knowledge of safety, security, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and train members of the duty section.
5. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as supply regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve complex supply problems.
6. Skill in handling fork-lift controls for starting, stopping, backing, lifting, lowering, tilting, and driving fork-lift trucks through narrow aisles, up and down ramps, and in and out of trucks; manipulating motor vehicle controls for starting, stopping, backing, and driving vehicles in all types of traffic and road conditions; and judging overhead and side clearances, turning radius, and braking distances.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
