The primary purpose of this position is to provide Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) supply operations support pertaining to specialized or unique equipment, parts, and supplies.
Duties
Provide RDT&E supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for equipment, parts, and a wide variety of supply items.
Maintain RDT&E property accounts and records, completing individual transactions, screening reference files, conducting data searches, and distributing output files.
Perform document control work involved in the processing of RDT&E transactions.
Provide assistance to customers, storage depots, or other organizations.
Perform general clerical support work.
Use multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc.
Requirements
- Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary. There may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
- Work Environment: Work is performed indoors in an environment involving everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices or meeting rooms. The area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, and other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned. Familiarity with one or more automated supply databases to enter, correct, and retrieve recurring reports, and to structure and retrieve specialized reports. Sound working knowledge of the structure of the local supply organizations serviced. Knowledge of a range of standard clerical assignments and to resolve recurring problems. Knowledge of various office automation software processing procedures and function keys and the similarities and differences among software types to produce a wide range of documents such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update and revise existing databases or spreadsheets. Skill in typing. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
OR EDUCATION: 4 years above high school education and is directly related to the work of the position.
OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements at grades GS-5 and below.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-04 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-05 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of ROT &E supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods.
Knowledge of policies and procedures for requisitioning and stock control.
Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures; data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system; and various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
Skill in typing; a qualified typist is required.
Ability to research, compile, and analyze supply information and data; receive, screen, review, verify, and maintain supply documents; and resolve discrepancies.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
