This position is located in Service Center Operations Directorate, Nebraska Service Center.
As a Supervisory Immigration Services Analyst (Section Chief), you provide guidance and manage First-line Supervisors (and a team of Analysts) who are responsible for improving processes, following USCIS policies and procedures, assessing productivity and effectiveness of operations, and analyzing and resolving problems with effectiveness of Records Contractor pre-processing Immigration benefits.
Duties
Manage and mentor a group of supervisors and support personnel who are responsible for directing, implementing, coordinating and overseeing major department-wide missions.
Administering programs requiring application of a wide range of qualitative systems and management support principles, processes, and systems.
Provide technical and administrative supervision to the unit; establish and carryout specific action plans for accomplishing short-term goals and objectives.
Develop and prescribe procedures and techniques and furnish policy guidance to subordinates.
Coordinate with other unit supervisors and peers to establish unit objectives, goals, priorities and deadlines, and formulate plans to meet substantial changes in workload.
Adjust work operations to meet priorities, change programs or production requirements within available resources with minimum sacrifice of quantity and quality of work. Establish production standards, prepare performance work plans and appraisals.
Make decisions and resolve problems involving interpretation of USCIS Rules and Regulations.
Responsible for the effectiveness of Records operations/functions within the boundaries of the agency's Records Division.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 06/12/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 06/12/2024.
GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Conducting center wide studies and evaluating programs administered by different organizations;
Recommending solutions to issues by analyzing current processes and procedures to identify errors and trends;
Serving as the Project Manager responsible for the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of major program operations throughout an organization;
Evaluating the cost effectiveness and attainment of program goals and objectives;
Ensuring compliance with pertinent legal and regulatory guidelines and contract obligations;
Directing, coordinating, and overseeing work of subordinate staff.
