You will serve as a PCS PROGRAM SPECIALIST of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

You will serve as a junior specialist with responsibility for assisting the subject matter expert (SME) on PCS, NTS, SIT extensions for HHGs, and the following types of travel orders, entitlements, and allowances You will provide advice and guidance to all levels of NCIS employees worldwide on the interpretation, procedures, authorizations and limitations of the Joint Travel Regulations policies on PCS entitlements and allowances. You will assist with PCS counseling sessions/training, processing DoD National Relocation Program(DNRP) and Property Management requests, and in generating/obligating PCS funding/processing. You will assist the SME in researching flight costs and creating cost estimates. Creates the orders, generates 1st endorsement to record costs of PCS allowances in the funding documents, and assigns the appropriate funding type. You will assist the SME in generating temporary duty (TDY) order for the employee and dependents that are authorized an authorized departure by OCHR to an authorized evacuation location. You will assist in providing cross-training to their counterpart junior specialist. You will assist the SME in preparing status reports/briefings to senior management officials regarding data calls.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Researching and assisting with the interpretation of travel regulations to provide advice and guidance; and creating PCS orders in accordance with travel regulations. GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Researching travel regulations to provide guidance; and assisting with the creation of PCS orders in accordance with travel regulations.
