You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDER of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.
Duties
You will mark materials with appropriate identifying data and moves them from receiving area to specified storage areas.
You will move material from other buildings and piers, such as stored records and office furniture for long term storage.
You will use basic material handling equipment to return materials previously removed for remarking and/or repackaging to specified storage locations.
You will issue and deliver materials to contractor and command personnel as required.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: the ability to perform a full range of tasks of a material handler to include experience performing a majority of the following duties with minimal supervision: receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, inventorying, distributing, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage and compliance with technical requirements and documenting discrepancies; reading and preparing shipping documents; utilizing automated systems such as Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to input, update and extract data; operating automated equipment such as scanners, computer terminals, and barcode wands to process incoming stock; perform clearly defined segments of re-warehousing/consolidation warehouse assignments and make recommendations concerning the consolidation or relocation of stored items to maximize warehouse space; determining proper handling and storage procedures; operating material handling equipment and motor vehicles to relocate, arrange, stack and palletize items. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
