Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As an Administrative Officer, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Serving as principal advisor to an important agency organization on all administrative management matters associated with programs and operations. Analyzing organizational priorities and provides a wide range of liaison services to support administrative aspects for a significant agency component. Providing advice and recommendations, both orally and in writing, on administrative matters and advises on the administrative feasibility of operating plans, suggestions, and proposals. Developing and advising on administrative requirements for a complex organization and actively participates in developing and implementing administrative management policies. ** Duties as shown are at the full performance level (FPL) of the GS-13. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the FPL.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: For GS-12: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Formulating organizational strategies and/or communicate annual plans and updates to team members as appropriate. Interpreting policies, procedures, and/or practices concerning all aspects of travel, local, sponsored, domestic and/or foreign, and reimbursement for travel expenses for all orders and vouchers within the employee's assigned area(s). Analyzing and/or implementing standards/policies/procedures. For GS-13: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3)of the following: Providing leadership and serves as the focal point for integrating and coordinating the overall administrative functions for an assigned office. Serving as the principal advisor on all aspects of financial management, procurement, travel, organizational development, emergency planning, time and attendance, property management and/or other administrative services. Evaluating existing administrative processes and evaluating alternative solutions to make appropriate recommendations on courses of action. Utilizing personnel policies, procedures and resources to identify, research, consider options, make recommendations and/or implement plans regarding sensitive personnel issues. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
