The Public Health Analyst performs the following duties: Assists in developing and formulating short- and long-range public health program goals, objectives, and policies. Monitor, implement, and evaluate public health policies, operations, and services. Develops qualitative and quantitative methods and strategies for planning, evaluating, and documenting study findings. Gather data and coordinate with others to develop program guidelines, goals, plans, and strategies.

Specialized Experience:GS-09: Applicants must meet one of the criteria defined below: Education: Have a master's in public health or other field of study with course work directly related to the work of the position to be filled or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR Specialized experience: Experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience assisting with providing advice and evaluating the effectiveness of public health programs, policies and activities. OR Combination of experience and education: Have a combination of experience and education as described above that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. Note: Education must be completed successfully before the applicant can be appointed. Documenting experience: In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description. Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an SF-50 or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment. The documentation must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the "percentage of times" the other duties were performed. It is expected that this documentation is included in the employee's official personnel record. In order to receive credit for experience in your resume that is not within the official series and grade level of your official position, you must provide a copy of the appropriate documentation of such experience as indicated above. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.

Education

PATHWAYS - RECENT GRADUATE - ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicants MUST MEET the following eligibility requirements to participate in the Pathways Recent Graduate Program:- Have completed, within the last two (2) years as of the closing date of this announcement, a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying education institute. Veterans who were unable to apply within two (2) years of receiving their degree, due to military service obligation, may be extended up to six years.

If education is required or you are using education to qualify, you must submit a copy of your college transcripts. An unofficial copy is sufficient with the application; however, if you are selected, you will be required to submit official transcripts prior to entering on duty. Education must have been successfully obtained from an accredited school, college or university.

Special Instructions for Foreign Education: If you are using education completed at foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by an accredited private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program. You must provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation with a course by course listing along with your application. Failure to provide such documentation, at the time of application, will result in lost of consideration.
