You will serve as an Electric Power Controller Leader in the Production Division, Public Works Department Norfolk of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will operate a high voltage electrical utility distribution system to isolate and minimize power failures.
You will respond to emergency power failures by determining the extent of the power failure.
You will operate high voltage switches and circuit breakers to transfer loads and restore power.
You will perform preventative maintenance on high voltage and low voltage switch gear, transformers, circuit breakers and associated equipment.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You may be assigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the commuting area, as a condition of employment.
- You must be able to qualify as a Gas Free Monitor within 6 months of entering the position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CPR certification.
