You will serve as an Electric Power Controller, Production Division, Public Works Department Norfolk, of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic.

Duties

You will operate power distribution systems characterized by a wide variety of uses. You will interpret priority lists to plan load shedding schedules. You will interpret load requests to schedule blocks of power requested by users. You will interpret operating instructions and distribution equipment operating criteria. You will interpret circuit diagrams and equipment layout drawings. You will interpret guidelines such as load shedding priority schedule, operating criteria of equipment, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You may be assigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the region.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Commercial Drivers License Class B.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR certification.
  • You will be required to attend and successfully pass annual confined space entry training.
  • This position is designated as ALPHA and requires you to report in emergencies and inclement weather.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid Navy Crane Operator's license.
