Duties

You will perform a variety of functions in the operations and preventive maintenance of a primary electrical source system. You will operate alternating current and direct current switchboards to control and distribute electrical power thought the primary distribution system. You will perform inspections and maintenance on distribution transformers, circuit breakers, bus work, switches, electrical instrumentation, and related equipment rated up to 34.5 kV. You will follow safety guidelines and practices in performing trades related work. You will analyze a variety of interrelated meter indications to detect abnormal conditions such as circuit overloads, improper line voltages, and temperature.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Distributing and controlling electrical distribution systems; 2) Operating switchboards to remotely control circuit breakers, transformers and switches in order to regulate and maintain proper voltage on the distribution lines; 3) Interpreting operating instructions and distribution equipment operating criteria to determine when to adjust the taps on a transformer in order to maintain voltage on the feeder.
