Serves as a program lead in assigned areas of responsibility to provide expertise on technical matters, programs, and procedures relating to the National Airspace Systems. Performs multiple varying and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist. Acts as principal technical specialist or as a project manager or team leader for large work activities.
Duties
Analyzes proposed changes to the National Airspace Systems (NAS) to determine impact and provide suggestions to improve the quality of services and correct deficiencies using experience and comprehensive technical knowledge of the NAS. Applies in-depth technical knowledge of the NAS in order to design, develop, modify, or evaluate major systems or programs.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
- May be terminated at any time, extended, or made permanent without further competition.
- Security Requirement: Moderate Risk (5). This position requires completion and favorable adjudication of a background investigation prior to appointment, unless a waiver is obtained. Subject to a 5 year period reinvestigation.
Qualifications
Specialized ExperienceCandidates must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the (FV-I or FG/GS-13) level that is typically in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position to be filled.
