You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the ORDINANCE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING & MANAGEMENT DEPT (23), SEASPARROW SYSTEMS ENGINEERING & MANAGEMENT DIV (231) of NMC ORD SYS ENG MGMT. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will assist the Division Head in interpretation of Quality policies and procedures. You will maintain Seasparrow Launcher Depot Quality Instructions/Quality Control Manual to reflect current changes and needs. You will recommend establishment of necessary quality indicators to provide "real time results". You will generate and present reports on Depot quality Instruction/status to Depot managers as required You will provide onsite audit capability of quality practices in use and recommend/conduct corrective training. You will provide monitoring, oversight, and operational approval of production process for both government and contractor personnel.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience interpreting agency regulations, procedures and work methods governing storage, handling, shipment, preservation, packaging, test, repair and modification of depot level repairable (DLR) items. *Experience monitoring quality indicator information and recommending change to work instructions/process to reduce unnecessary quality cost. *Experience investigating quality discrepancies and establish/monitor corrective actions, and audit processes. *Experience planning, managing, and monitoring quality tasks for all phases of depot production processes. Education

Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree;
or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements for the position.
