You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT of NAVSUBTORP FAC.

Duties

You will manage the implementation and execution of the MK-48 Torpedo Quality Management System at NSTF. You will determine long-term and short-term goals to meet and maintain product quality and reliability requirements. You will set quality policies effecting the entire organization, and act as the torpedo quality advisor to the Commanding Officer. You will be responsible for managing the command Self-Assessment program, Corrective Action/Preventative Acton program, Training and Qualification program, Technical Document Control program, and Metrology Oversight. You will be responsible for managing the internal audit program, categorizing results, performing trend analysis and quality data evaluation, adjudicating findings and reporting results to Executive Management during the Local Quality Council. You will utilize the audit program to identify production shortfalls to focus resources on weak areas. You will manage the Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) program, track discrepancies and facilitate process improvements utilizing formal and informal root cause analysis. You will develop and implement methods to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to torpedo production, promote team building and improve business practices. You will determine program goals and develop plans for the organization on matters pertaining to quality assurance related to functions for torpedo maintenance and repair. You will assess the impact of substantive developments on torpedo programs and policies of the command.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
  • Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS - 11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience analyzing and resolving various levels of sensitive and complex issues related to maintenance processes to ensure that all products and equipment will conform to validated requirements throughout its life cycle. Experience with the full range of principles, concepts and methodology related to the MK-48 Heavyweight Torpedo Quality Management System. Experience conducting problem analysis and developing logical and documented recommendations. Experience managing an effective and comprehensive Training and Qualification program. Experience with NAVSEA directives, Military standards, Military Specifications, and torpedo maintenance procedures. Experience performing a full range of supervisory responsibilities. Experience communicating NAVEA directives, training material, complex issues and recommendations orally and in writing.
