This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG) Pacific Area (PACAREA), District Eleven, Sector San Francisco, San Francisco, CA.  

Duties

The incumbent serves as an Intelligence Operations Specialist within the Sector's Intelligence staff.  Reports to the Sector Intelligence Officer and assists with defining and meeting the Sector Commander's intelligence needs.  Plays a key role in providing the Sector Commander with actionable intelligence of tactical value, with emphasis on speed, agility, and coordination to support operations and decision-making.

• This position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

At the GS-12 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade (in the Federal sector).  Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and ability to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: Coordinating the intelligence component of Sector participation in any National Special Security Event (NSSE). Remaining cognizant of developments in adjoining Sectors and coordinate intelligence sharing issues with counterparts in those Sectors. Participating in interagency working groups, meetings, and operations to develop/improve relationships, streamline information sharing, and sensitize partner agencies to Coast Guard missions and intelligence requirements. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.  If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
