You will serve as a Training Facility Inspector in the Range Operations Division of MCB CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will enforce the range safety program and prepare and staff all installation range safety publications.
You will read and interpret regulations and directives pertaining to range operations and activities, and develop, prepare, and revise local directives as required.
You will develop solutions to range problems and prepare recommendations for change to higher headquarters, and advise and assist commanders and senior staff officers on all matters pertaining to the range training complex.
You will review workload and inspect range activities as necessary to ensure compliance with policy established by this and higher headquarters.
You will be responsible for the oversight of all range safety matters and overall supervision of range safety operations, while executing installation range safety and training programs.
You will collect safety statements for all training accidents and incidents, and maintain records for all accidents occurring at base ranges or training facilities.
You will provide VIP, special event and emergency vehicle escorts to ranges and training facilities.
You will maintain and account for all vehicles, communication assets, and required equipment assigned to the Range Control Branch.
You will Identify safety related range maintenance requirements for all ranges, training areas and training facilities.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector coordinating, inspecting, certifying/validating ranges, training areas, and airspace; and processing live fire waivers.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
or
Have a combination of specialized experience and education that equal a total of 100% of the necessary one year of experience.
