The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.
Duties
Responsible for the Process Optimization and implementation of complex program and projects.
Plans and accomplishes studies of organization, technical and administrative type processes to improve productivity through application of process optimization methodologies.
Skill in quality, system engineering and configuration management is applied towards continuously improving the effectiveness of the Armament, Research, Development and Engineering Center, a multi-mission engineering center.
Represents Army Futures Command (AFC) elements at conferences and meetings held on post or externally.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Please note: Pay Band DE-02 is equivalent to a GS-05 through GS-11
General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level, which includes: 1) Experience developing a SharePoint system design to include (Web parts, application parts, publishing forms and Workflow); 2) experience with PowerPoint presentations and Excel reports to brief workforce; 3) experience developing configuration management plans, processes, and procedures; AND 4) knowledge or experience with Lean Six Sigma tools to solve problems related to armaments or weapons. This definition of experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-01 (GS-4)).

Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages.
ADMINISTRATIVE CAREERS WITH AMERICA (ACWA) This series is covered under the Administrative Careers With America (ACWA) examining program. You must meet the qualification requirements for the position and take and pass the ACWA assessment. The ACWA Program for entry-level hiring is at the GS-05 or GS-07 grade levels. This is a developmental position in the Pay Band DE-02 which is equivalent to a GS-05 through GS-11; you will be placed at the low end of the band and will be non-competitive advanced within the band until you meet the equivalent of a GS-11. You will serve in an entry level, developmental capacity to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. You will have non-competitive advancement potential to the equivalency of a GS-11 when all work can be performed at that level and all other requirements are met.
