About the Position:The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance.
Duties
Serves as working leader of 3 or more employees in accomplishing trades and labor work received from supervisor.
Perform inspections in field locations and on-site repair, modification, overhaul and/or rebuild of the complete systems of electronics and related equipment, including components controlled by the fire control systems on rotary wing aircraft.
Quality oversight of the repair, rebuild, modification, testing, installation, and final alignment of the complete integrated aircraft system, its subsystem and components, their contributing optical, mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems.
Utilizes a variety of complex and sensitive, electrical, electronics, countermeasures, optical, radar and infrared test sets, test stands, hot mock-up, and other airborne diagnostic test equipment.
Reviews requests for Material Review Board (MRB), Quality Deficiency Report/Equipment Improvement Recommendations (QDR/EIR), customer complaints, and/or proposed revisions to travelers and other publications applicable to assigned inspection area.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a personnel security background check (Tier 2).
- This position requires a pre-appointment physical examination and meet established requirements.
- This position is covered by the civilian drug testing program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, condition of employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the drug abuse testing program.
- Must complete a Soldering Certificate every two years.
- Required to work rotating shifts.
- Passport is required.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronics Integrated System Repair Inspector Leader without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common Electronics Integrated System Repair Inspector Leader duties which include (1) Test, align, repair, and modify equipment in various aircraft systems, and guide lower level employees in performance of supporting tasks; (2) Skill in reading, interpreting and applying complex blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, or technical manuals; and (3) Skill in using a broad range of test equipment in testing complex electronic equipment and systems. Examples are oscilloscopes (dual trace, storage, digitized), spectrum, network and distortion analyzers, frequency counters, computerized test set, data analyzer, and signal generators. Work under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Stands, sits, climbs, bends and may work in cramped and awkward positions. Lifts objects up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. Employee is expected to climb onto equipment, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel and stand for extended periods of time. Works, as required, in cramped or awkward positions. Occasionally work in high places may be required.
Working Conditions: Work is usually performed in well-lighted, heated and ventilated areas. Exposed to dirt, grease, dust, exhaust fumes, and high noise levels. Subject to the possibility of injury such as cuts, bruises, burns, electrical shock, and falls from equipment. Work may be performed outside in inclement weather and at field locations while on frequent TDY assignments.
