About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Act as a member of a field team responsible for repairing electronic aircraft systems at various work sites, both CONUS and OCONUS. Responsible in accomplishing a full range of tasks associated with rotary wing aircraft electronic systems, inclusive of pneumatic, hydraulic and instrument systems, subsystems, components and interrelated systems. Perform diagnostic troubleshooting analysis, repair, modification, testing of integration and final alignment of the electronic aircraft systems. Utilize a variety of complex and sensitive electrical, electronics, countermeasures, optical, radar and infrared test sets, test stands, hot mock-up, and other airborne diagnostic test equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position requires a Secret clearance (Tier 3).
  • Must pass a pre-appointment physical examination and meet established requirements.
  • Will be required to take part in preparedness training exercises or other training activities.
  • May be on-call, work irregular hours, accompany the assigned unit during technical and training field exercises, and deploy to contingency areas in support of the command's weapon systems.
  • Heavy lifting is required by this position.
  • Must possess a valid state driver?s license. Must obtain and maintain a valid government driver?s license.
  • SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Hazardous working conditions will be compensated by Environmental Differential Pay (EDP).
  • Designated Mission Essential Position
  • Medical examination to include immunizations, DNA sampling, HIV testing. Free of any health or medical condition that would prevent from performing duties. Be within the acceptable limits of the Body Mass Index ratios for height/weight limits.

Lifts items weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. May be required to work in cramped and confined spaces. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is at times performed in aircraft under conditions of heat or cold outside in inclement weather, subject to shop hazards and burns, cuts and bruises, and hazards while in flying status. Occasionally, work in high places may be required. Required to utilize protective clothing and safety equipment in the performance of assigned duties; e.g., shoes, glasses, goggles, gloves, hard-hat. Hazardous working conditions will be compensated by Environmental Differential Pay (EDP).
